8640-1 Polar Copter is a Technic Arctic set released in 1986, containing 238 pieces and 1 TECHNIC Figure. The model builds a polar helicopter with main and tail rotors driven by a side crank mechanism, and it was also known as Ski Chopper. It introduced the new 2- and 3-bladed rotor elements to the Technic range. An alternate build converts the parts into a fan-powered sled, and the figure includes skis, poles, and a helmet.
