9689-1 Simple Machines Set is an Education Technic set released in 2012, containing 204 pieces. It was designed for classroom use to teach basic physical science concepts through the study of simple and compound machines. The set includes elements for building demonstrations with gears, wheels and axles, levers, and pulleys, along with curriculum support materials such as teacher guidance and student worksheets. Its contents are intended for hands-on investigation of mechanical principles rather than a single display model.
