The Gold Eagle design is in a beautiful finish, with an enhanced version of the classic obverse paired with a new reverse. This perfect example is certified a flawless MS70 by PCGS and is designated First Day of Issue.
Coin Specifications:

- First Day of Issue designation indicates that this coin was among the very first to ship from the mint upon release.
- Obverse: An updated version of Augustus Saint-Gaudens’ famed Gold Double Eagle design, which features Lady Liberty in front of the Capitol holding in her right hand a fiery torch and an olive branch in her left. Her hair is flowing behind her in the wind signifying forward movement against a background of sun rays.
- Reverse: A bold close-up portrait of an eagle, designed by Jennie Norris. This design is the first new design introduced since the series began in 1986.
- Among the new features is an anti-counterfeit reeded edge variation on the one ounce coin.
The obverse design on each coin features Augustus Saint-Gaudens’ full-length figure of Liberty with flowing hair, holding a torch in her right hand and an olive branch in her left. For the 2022 coin, the United States Mint returned to its original historical assets in 2020 to render a closer reflection of Saint-Gaudens’ original vision and detail.
The newly designed reverse of each coin features a portrayal of an eagle. Inscriptions on each are “UNITED STATES OF AMERICA,” “E PLURIBUS UNUM,” and “IN GOD WE TRUST,” along with the face value and size.
